Connect the WordPress plugin
- Install 3D Viewer – 3D Model Viewer – Augmented Reality (AtlasAR) from WordPress.org.
- In WordPress, open AtlasAR → Integrations. Your admin email is filled in: keep it or type another, tick the agreement and click Connect this site.
- A new email is connected at once on the Free plan, no card needed. If the email already has an AtlasAR Cloud account, we email that account a link to approve the site: click it, then click Refresh in the plugin.
- Done: in AtlasAR → 3D Library, choose a model, optionally enter its real height and click Optimise on AtlasAR Cloud. The optimised file replaces the model on your site; the original is kept, and Restore the original brings it back.
- With AtlasAR Pro: an active Pro licence turns the site Premium on AtlasAR Cloud by itself after it connects (no monthly limit, photo to 3D). Nothing to buy or set up twice.
Already have an API key? Click I already have an API key and paste it (dashboard → Sites → your site → Keys; it starts with ar_live_). The plugin stores the key encrypted with your site's secret keys and only ever shows its first letters. While a model is being optimised the plugin checks on it; you can close the page and come back later.
"This site is already connected with another email"
A site belongs to the email that first connected it. If that was someone else (a former owner, a developer) or an address you no longer use, the plugin shows that email masked (for example o•••@example.com) and offers three choices:
- Use the other email, if it is yours: connect with it.
- Paste a key from that account's dashboard.
- Move the site to this email: AtlasAR Cloud checks that you run the site by reading a one-time code the plugin shows at your site's public address for 15 minutes, then moves the site and its usage history to your email. The old key stops working and the old email is told. A site on a local or private network cannot be moved this way.
The real height (optional)
Enter the product's height in centimetres (0.5–1000), for example 32 for a 32 cm vase, and the model is made exactly that size, so it looks right in AR. Leave it empty and the model keeps its own size. Photo to 3D always needs it: a model made from a photo has no real size of its own.
Optimize a GLB
Open a product, add its GLB model, then open 3D model tools → Optimize GLB. Enter the product's real height and click Optimize with AtlasAR Cloud. The smaller, true-size model is saved as a new Media Library file and set on the product; the original stays, and Undo switches back. It uses 1 model.
Flat products: wall art, posters, rugs and tiles
In 3D model tools → Flat product (free), choose a photo, the product type (canvas, poster, framed picture, rug or tile) and its real size, then click Make 3D model. The model is made in your browser: it is free, uses no models, and the photo never leaves your site. You get a GLB for Android and the web and a USDZ for iPhone; wall items hang on the wall in AR, rugs lie on the floor.
Photo to 3D with AI
Coming soon. Photo to 3D is not open on AtlasAR Cloud yet. Today, AtlasAR Pro makes models with Meshy AI or Tripo3D using your own key, and wall art, posters and rugs are made from a photo for free.
In 3D model tools → Photo to 3D, choose a clear photo of the product alone on a plain background, enter its real height and click Make 3D model. It takes one to three minutes and uses 10 models. It is part of Premium: a site with an AtlasAR Pro licence is Premium.
Real size and placement
- Always enter the product's real height in centimetres. The model is scaled to it, with its base on the floor, so AR shows it at its true size.
- Floor items (chairs, lamps, rugs) are placed on the floor; wall items (art, mirrors, tiles) on the wall.
- Each finished model is checked against a page budget: pass up to 3 MB, warn up to 5 MB, fail above. Smaller files load faster on phones.
The dashboard
Sign in at cloud.wpaugmentedreality.com/app to see your sites, usage, API keys and failed requests. The Create 3D page makes models without a site: flat products in your browser, GLB optimization, and photo to 3D billed to the Premium site you choose. Models made there are kept for 2 hours, so download what you need.
Show models on any website
Not on WordPress? The viewer SDK is the same viewer as the plugin, for any site: one script and one tag show the model in 3D, with AR on phones, a popup, a QR code on computers, and a fallback for browsers that cannot show 3D.
<script src="https://cloud.wpaugmentedreality.com/sdk/v1/atlasar.js" defer></script>
<atlasar-viewer model="mdl_4f8Q…"></atlasar-viewer>
Every option, the JavaScript API and the security settings are in the viewer SDK guide.
Your first API call
Get a key by connecting a site, or in the dashboard under Projects. Keep it secret: use it from your server, never in browser code.
curl -X POST "https://cloud.wpaugmentedreality.com/v1/models/upload?name=Vase&height_cm=30" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer ar_live_…" \
-H "Content-Type: model/gltf-binary" \
--data-binary @vase.glb
The answer is 202 with the model and "units": 0. Ask for it with GET /v1/models/{id} until status is ready, then use files.glb, or let a webhook tell you. Everything else is in the API reference.
Webhooks
Set one HTTPS address per site with PUT /v1/webhook. We send model.ready and model.failed events, signed with your secret in the AtlasAR-Signature header. Check the signature on every request and ignore event ids you have already seen. The WordPress plugin does all of this for you.
Limits
- Free: 20 model optimizations a month and 10 hosted models per account. One optimization makes one existing GLB lighter; it does not create a new model. Photo to 3D (new models with AI) is Premium only. Premium: no monthly limit and unlimited hosted models.
- Up to 5 models are made at the same time per account; a 6th is refused until one of them finishes, so try again in a minute.
- GLB files up to 50 MB; photos up to 25 MB (JPEG, PNG or WebP).
